Make your own way to the meeting point in Quito’s Mariscal district in time for departure. Traveling aboard an air-conditioned tour bus with your small group, set out on the drive to the first stop of the day, the Mitad del Mundo (the ‘Middle of the World’), to see the famous Equator line (entrance not included).

Continue through the Andes, stopping along the way to visit the Cayambe Bizcochos factory (entrance not included) and sample the traditional local biscuits. Make a final stop at a viewpoint, looking out over Quito, Cotopaxi, and Cayambe, before arriving in Otavalo.

Spend time exploring the traditional Andean village and learning about its rich indigenous heritage. Then, visit the famous Otavalo market, where you can shop for vibrant artworks, traditional handicrafts, and unique souvenirs.

Leave the bustling marketplace behind and head into the surrounding countryside to visit Cuicocha, a vast crater lake, set in a stunning location at the foot of the Cotacachi Volcano.

After enjoying lunch at a local restaurant (included), make a final stop in Cotacachi, renowned as Ecuador’s leather capital, where you can spend time browsing the shops and perhaps pick up some quality leather goods.

Then, return to Quito where your tour ends back at the starting point.

Otavalo Market
From Cayambe, it takes only half an hour to reach Otavalo. After arriving, you will visit a beautiful view point where you will be able to observe the city. Then you will visit a small hats factory. At 11:00, you will exploring Otavalo Market, one of the biggest indigenous markets in South America where you can buy typical Ecuadorian souvenirs.

Around 2:00 PM, you will be taken to Cuicocha crater lake, a unique lake with an amazingly stunning view.

At 3:30 approximately you will enjoy a local lunch, and then you will go to Cotacachi. This place is know as the ‘leather capital of Ecuador’. You will have the change to explore the town and buy some souvenirs.
