Very near the Volcano Cotopaxi is a turquoise-bluish lagoon, this color is due at the high concentration of minerals that have their waters, this lagoon is located inside the crater of the "Quilotoa Volcano" from there its name "Laguna del Quilotoa", d within the lagoon there are springs, that from the shore can be perceived as bubbling stelae that rise to the surface , this volcano is high of 3800 masl.
To to reach the lagoon we must cross the Zumbahua canyon and some villages indigenous, we will also do a small tour in the following markets, depending on the day of Departure Saquisilí (Thursday), Zumbahua (Saturdays) or Pujilí (Sundays). Before the lunch we will visit the community of “Shalala”, a famous community known for their crafts, the visit will be with a native guide of the area.
In the middle of typical cold of the Andean moorland, the Kichwa indigenous community called Tigua rises. It is a dream trip! the eyes marvel at wide areas of grasslands. There are crops of barley, beans, chochos, potatoes, mellocos, oca and mashua (tubers), this variety of crops offer different shades that range from yellow to intense green.
