On the first day, arrive at the KAIA hotel at 3:00 PM to check-in for an overnight stay. After check-in, enjoy some free time to explore the city or have dinner in the surrounding area.
On the second day, visit the historic center of Quito, the largest and best-preserved in South America on an original guided trolley tour. The trolleys are replicas of the trams that circulated in Quito during the 20th century. Visit the Basilica del Voto Nacional Church, where you will have a brief stop for an explanation of its facade.
Then, ride towards the Panecillo viewpoint, an iconic place in the city renowned for its giant statue of the "Winged Virgin". From here, admire the beautiful contrasts of colonial and modern Quito. Continue to the Plaza de San Francisco, one of the most famous locations in the city. Visit Plaza Grande, the historic and political center of the city, surrounded by innumerable attractions including the Cathedral, the Governmental Palace, the Archbishop's Palace, and La Compañía church.
Next, visit the traditional La Ronda neighborhood, home to many artisan workshops. Learn about local craftwork and cultural traditions in the charming street. Visit one of the artisan workshops and see how products such as panamá hats are made. Or visit some of the joineries or tinwork shops. Finish the tour with drop-off back at the hotel.
