Board the Quito Tour Bus on Avenida Naciones Unidas in the heart of Quito, and then depart the city at 12:00 PM to journey to the Geobotanical Reserve of the Pululahua Crater at the Ciudad Mitad del Mundo complex.
Located 26 kilometers north of Quito, the grounds contain the Monument to the Equator, highlighting the exact location of the equator at the "Middle of the World." Upon arrival, get a full pass to skip the lines to the Equatorial Museum, Train Station and cultural pavilions at the complex. See the yellow line that marks the 2 hemispheres and access the planetarium, where an optomechanical projector allows you to visualize about 3,000 stars from any point on earth.
Take an English and Spanish-speaking guided tour of the ancestral housing and go to Plaza del Cacao, where you can sample some of the world's most delicious chocolates as you learn the story of the cacao bean. Visit the new Beer Museum, see a miniature model that celebrates the architectural beauty of the Historic Center of Quito and more.
Finally, you will visit the Agave Museum where you will have a tasting of this ancestral drink. Return to the start point at approximately 7:00 PM.
